Play House of Hazards, complete household chores, dodge player-triggered traps, sabotage your rivals, and compete with up to four players in chaotic local rounds.
House of Hazards is a local multiplayer party game where ordinary household chores become a competition full of traps. Your job is to move through the house, complete assigned tasks, and avoid hazards such as falling lights and flying toast. At the same time, rival players can control traps and activate them at the worst possible moment. The game supports up to four players, turning every round into a mix of movement, timing, sabotage, and quick reactions.
House of Hazards was created by New Eich Games and released in September 2020. Instead of fighting enemies or racing through traditional platform levels, players compete inside and around a house while completing everyday objectives.
The tasks themselves are intentionally ordinary. You may need to make or drink coffee, brush your teeth, water plants, or collect the mail. The difficulty comes from reaching those objectives while another player watches your movement and waits for an opportunity to activate a nearby hazard.
After a round, the game uses a Wheel of Fortune-style system that can change the conditions of the following round. This keeps players from relying on exactly the same approach every time.
The most important difference between House of Hazards and a normal obstacle game is that many dangers are controlled by other players. You are not only learning where hazards are located—you are trying to predict when another person will activate them.
| Player | Control | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Player 1 | A / D | Move left or right; change hazard selection when controlling traps |
| Player 1 | W | Jump |
| Player 1 | S | Crouch, grab, or activate the selected hazard depending on the situation |
| Player 2 | J / L | Move left or right; change hazard selection when controlling traps |
| Player 2 | I | Jump |
| Player 2 | K | Crouch, grab, or activate the selected hazard depending on the situation |
Multiple current control guides agree on the A-D-W-S layout for Player 1 and J-L-I-K for Player 2. Players three and four require gamepad controls in documented four-player setups.
House of Hazards makes simple chores dangerous by placing them near locations where another player can interfere with you. Confirmed tasks include making or drinking coffee, brushing your teeth, watering plants, and collecting mail.
The coffee objective sends you into the kitchen area. Because kitchen objects can become hazards, reaching the task quickly does not guarantee that you will complete it safely.
The bathroom objective requires you to reach the appropriate task point without being interrupted. A rival who knows where you are going can prepare a hazard before you arrive.
Watering plants takes you toward another part of the house or garden, expanding the route you need to travel and giving opponents more opportunities to interrupt you.
The mail task forces you to travel toward the mailbox and return through hazardous areas. The longer route makes trap awareness especially important.
Falling lamps and flying toast are among the game's most recognizable hazards, while other versions document swinging cabinets and similar household objects. The danger is not simply that these traps exist; another player may be deciding exactly when they activate.
That creates two different roles during a match. When completing chores, you are reading the environment and trying to survive. When controlling traps, you are watching the other player's movement and deciding when activation is most likely to connect.
Good trap timing usually matters more than activating hazards immediately. If an opponent is still far from a lamp or cabinet, firing it early can reveal the danger without stopping them.
At the end of each round, House of Hazards introduces another layer of unpredictability through its Wheel of Fortune. The wheel determines special conditions that affect a later round.
Documented effects include conditions such as heavier movement, inverted controls, repeating a task, and increased hazard activity. Because these modifiers change how players move or interact with the house, you should check the rule before immediately starting your usual route.
Remember which objects can become hazards. Once you know where a falling lamp, cabinet, or kitchen trap is positioned, you can slow down before entering its danger zone instead of reacting only after it activates.
The shortest route is not always the safest route when another person controls the traps. If a rival is clearly waiting for you near an objective, changing your timing can force them to activate too early.
House of Hazards is partly about predicting another player's timing. When approaching a known trap, use a short pause, jump, or change of direction to make your movement less predictable.
When you are sabotaging another player, wait until they have committed to entering the trap area. Triggering too soon gives them time to stop or change direction.
The action key can crouch during normal movement. Use it when the current hazard can be avoided by lowering your character rather than pressing it randomly while running.
If the Wheel of Fortune changes movement or hazard behavior, adjust immediately. A route that was safe under normal controls may become much harder when movement is slowed or reversed.
House of Hazards supports up to four players in its local multiplayer setup. Two players can share the keyboard through separate control layouts, while documented four-player configurations use additional gamepads.
More players also means more opportunities for interference. In a two-player match, it is relatively easy to track the only opponent. With three or four participants, several people may be progressing through different chores while hazards are being activated elsewhere in the house.
The result is less about finishing a fixed platform course and more about adapting to what the other players are doing in real time.

Your goal is to complete assigned household tasks while avoiding traps controlled by the other players. When you control hazards, you can activate those traps to interrupt your opponents.
House of Hazards supports local multiplayer for up to four players.
Player 1 uses A and D to move, W to jump, and S for actions such as crouching or activating hazards. Player 2 uses J and L to move, I to jump, and K for the corresponding action.
Documented objectives include coffee, brushing your teeth, watering plants, and collecting the mail.
New Eich Games developed House of Hazards. The developer's official press kit lists its publication date as September 10, 2020.
House of Hazards turns a simple list of household jobs into a multiplayer game about anticipation. Completing chores quickly matters, but learning where hazards are located, watching when rivals are ready to trigger them, and changing your timing from round to round can matter even more. When it is your turn to sabotage, wait for opponents to commit before activating a trap. When you are completing tasks, treat every ordinary household object as something that might suddenly interrupt your run.
