Ice Scream is a stealth horror puzzle game where you hide from Rod, explore locations, solve puzzles, use his van, and rescue your frozen friend Charlie.
Ice Scream is a first-person stealth horror and puzzle game from Keplerians. Your friend Charlie has been kidnapped and frozen by an ice cream seller named Rod, who takes him away inside his van. To rescue Charlie, you must follow Rod, explore different locations, collect useful objects, solve environmental puzzles, and avoid being discovered while uncovering what the ice cream seller is hiding.
The story begins after you witness Rod capture Charlie using a mysterious freezing power. Rather than confronting Rod directly, you secretly enter his ice cream van and use it to investigate the places he visits.
Each location contains clues, objects, doors, hiding places, and puzzle elements that contribute to the rescue. Progress depends on understanding where an item belongs or how one action opens access to another area.
Rod actively searches for you during this process. He can hear movement, so solving a puzzle is only part of the challenge. You also need to decide when it is safe to explore and when hiding is the better choice.
In commonly available browser versions, the controls are built around first-person movement and object interaction:
Interaction is especially important because much of the game revolves around examining objects, opening routes, collecting items, and using them in the correct place.
Rod is not a stationary obstacle. He searches the environment and can react to the sounds you make. This turns ordinary exploration into a stealth problem.
Moving without thinking about Rod's position can cause him to appear while you are searching for an item or working on a puzzle. When you hear him approaching, stop concentrating on the objective for a moment and find somewhere safer.
Once he moves away, you can return to the puzzle. Separating exploration into short safe windows is usually more reliable than trying to complete an entire task while Rod is close.
Ice Scream gives you ways to avoid Rod rather than requiring direct combat. Hiding prevents him from seeing you, while moving through different areas can pull his attention away from the place you need to investigate.
This makes route awareness important. When entering a new room or area, notice possible exits and hiding spots before spending too long examining one object.
If Rod discovers your position, knowing where you can retreat is much more useful than searching for an escape route after he is already nearby.
The ice cream van connects several scenarios in the original rescue story. Following Rod between locations gradually reveals more about what he is doing and gives you access to different parts of the puzzle.
Do not assume every object can be used in the same place where you found it. An item discovered in one location may become useful somewhere else after you travel in the van.
When you become stuck, think about the objects you are carrying and the areas you have already visited. The solution may require returning to an earlier location with something you did not have the first time.
The puzzles are tied closely to exploration. You may need to find an item, identify where it belongs, unlock another area, and then use what you discover there to continue the sequence.
Before assuming that you are missing a hidden object, check whether you have fully explored the locations already available. Look at doors, containers, blocked paths, and interactive objects that previously could not be used.
This approach reduces unnecessary wandering because each new item gives you a reason to reconsider places where you were previously unable to progress.
Ice Scream includes different difficulty options, including Ghost, Normal, and Hard in the original release. The main story and puzzle structure remain recognizable, but the danger presented by Rod changes with the selected difficulty.
Ghost mode is useful when you mainly want to understand the locations and puzzle sequence. Normal and Hard put more emphasis on avoiding Rod while completing the same type of exploration.
Choose a difficulty based on whether you want to concentrate primarily on solving the mystery or combine the puzzles with more demanding stealth.
When entering an unfamiliar area, identify a doorway or hiding place before spending time investigating objects. If Rod arrives, you already know where to move instead of searching for safety under pressure.
Do not immediately return to the puzzle after Rod passes nearby. Give yourself enough information to know that he has actually moved away before exposing your position again.
An object collected later may solve a problem you encountered earlier. Keeping track of inaccessible doors and suspicious environmental objects makes backtracking more purposeful.
When you collect something new, consider which previously explored location might use it. This can narrow the number of places you need to search next.
Travel between locations when the current area no longer offers an obvious next step. The game's puzzle chain extends across several scenarios rather than remaining inside one building.

Keplerians developed Ice Scream and the wider Ice Scream horror series.
Rod is the ice cream seller who kidnaps Charlie. Although he initially appears friendly, he hides a dangerous plan and actively searches for you while you investigate.
Your main objective is to follow Rod through different locations, solve the necessary puzzles, and rescue Charlie after Rod freezes and kidnaps him.
Yes. Rod reacts to your movements, which is why hiding and moving carefully are important parts of the gameplay.
The original game includes Ghost, Normal, and Hard difficulty options, allowing you to change how demanding the stealth side of the rescue becomes.
Ice Scream combines exploration, stealth, and interconnected puzzles around one clear objective: finding Charlie before Rod stops you. Search each location carefully, remember where blocked paths are located, use the van to revisit areas with new items, and hide whenever Rod gets too close. Progress comes from understanding both the puzzle sequence and how to move through the neighborhood without giving the ice cream seller an easy chance to catch you.
