Drift Hunters MAX is a drifting game with 39 cars, 13 tracks, tuning, upgrades, Drift Attack challenges, Freestyle driving, and Open World traffic.
Drift Hunters MAX is a browser drifting game created by Drifted in collaboration with original Drift Hunters developer Ilya Kaminetsky. You choose a car, initiate controlled slides, build drift combos, earn credits, and improve your garage with performance and visual upgrades. The current version expands the original formula with 39 cars, 13 tracks, Freestyle driving, scored Drift Attack events, and an Open World mode filled with AI traffic.
The central challenge is maintaining a drift without losing control. Instead of simply racing toward a finish line, you earn points by keeping the car sideways through corners and linking separate slides into longer combinations. Crashing or allowing the drift sequence to end interrupts the combo, so consistency is more valuable than forcing maximum angle into every turn.
Credits earned through gameplay can be invested in additional cars, performance parts, tuning, and cosmetic changes. The latest Drifted version lists 39 vehicles and 13 tracks covering racetracks, touge roads, and open playground-style environments.
You can choose between automatic and manual transmission from the game options. Manual shifting gives you more direct control over the gear being used, while automatic transmission lets you concentrate more heavily on steering, throttle, and drift angle.
Freestyle is the open-ended drifting mode. Choose a car and location, then drive without a specific scored course forcing you through predetermined clipping zones.
This makes Freestyle useful when learning a new vehicle. You can repeat the same corner, experiment with handbrake timing, and see how different throttle inputs affect the car without worrying about missing an event checkpoint.
The available environments include technical touge routes, purpose-built racetracks, and larger playground areas, so you can practice different styles of drifting before moving into more structured challenges.
Drift Attack turns drifting into a judged challenge. Instead of driving anywhere you want, you need to pass through clipping areas while maintaining enough angle and speed. The mode also uses time limits, so taking an overly slow route can hurt the run even if the car remains under control.
Your performance produces an overall result and star rating. A strong run therefore requires more than creating one long uncontrolled slide. You need to position the car correctly through each scoring sector and maintain useful momentum between them.
When approaching a judged section, set up the car before reaching the marker. Entering sideways too late can leave you with insufficient angle, while rotating too early may send the vehicle away from the required line.
Drift Attack is timed. A very wide slide may look dramatic, but it can reduce your pace enough to create problems at later checkpoints. Aim for a balance between angle and forward momentum.
Open World changes the structure again by placing you in an endless city environment with dynamic AI-controlled traffic. You can drift through streets while maintaining combos, but ordinary traffic becomes another obstacle that can interrupt a long scoring sequence.
This makes route awareness particularly important. A wide corner may look ideal for a long drift until another vehicle occupies your intended exit. Look farther down the street before committing to a high-angle slide.
When traffic becomes dense, a shorter controlled drift can be more useful than attempting to maintain one large combo through a space that is no longer clear.
The current Drift Hunters MAX version lists 39 vehicles and 13 tracks. The garage ranges from JDM-style drift favorites to European performance cars, American muscle cars, and supercars. Examples include the Toyota AE86, Nissan Silvia models, Mazda RX-7, BMW M3 variants, Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R, Toyota GR Supra, Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Countach, and Lamborghini Huracan STO.
The 13 locations include Ocean City, New Zealand, Countryside, Akagi, Ohio, Fog Mountain, Icefield, Fukushima Hills, Nevada, Karting Loop, Container Yard, Barcelona, and Waterfront. They are divided across playground, racetrack, and touge-style environments.
Credits can be reinvested into performance upgrades rather than being used only to buy additional cars. Documented upgrade areas include the engine, turbo, gearbox, brakes, and weight reduction. Upgrade levels progress through categories such as Stock, Street, Racing, and Pro.
More power is not always the first improvement you need. If the car already enters corners quickly but repeatedly becomes difficult to control, increasing performance further may make the problem worse. Consider how the car behaves before deciding what part to improve.
Visual customization is also available, including paint and aftermarket wheel options. These choices let you change the appearance of a build separately from its performance setup.
The handbrake is useful when steering alone does not rotate the car enough. Tap it around drift initiation, then return to throttle and steering control instead of holding it throughout the entire corner.
Once the rear of the car begins sliding, steering continuously toward the inside of the corner can make the vehicle spin. Correct against the slide and make smaller adjustments as the drift develops.
A slightly smaller drift that keeps the chain alive can produce more value than forcing an extreme angle and crashing. When a combo is already large, prioritize a controlled transition into the next corner.
Each vehicle can require different steering and throttle timing. Use an open Freestyle area to understand a new car before taking it into Drift Attack, where clipping zones and time limits leave less room for experimentation.
Look toward the intended exit of the corner before committing. AI traffic can occupy the line you expected to use and end the combo through a collision.

Drift Hunters MAX was developed through a collaboration between Drifted and Ilya Kaminetsky, the creator of the original Drift Hunters.
The current Drifted version lists 39 cars, including two special vehicles associated with its earlier VIP program.
The latest main version documents 13 tracks across racetrack, touge, and playground environments.
The current version has three primary modes: Freestyle, Drift Attack, and Open World. Drift Attack focuses on judged clipping zones, while Open World adds endless city drifting with AI traffic.
Yes. The options menu lets you choose automatic or manual transmission. Manual mode uses Left Shift to shift up and Left Ctrl to shift down.
Drift Hunters MAX rewards drivers who can balance angle, speed, and control rather than simply throwing the car sideways at every opportunity. Use Freestyle to understand new cars, refine your clipping-point accuracy in Drift Attack, and watch for traffic when drifting through Open World. As credits accumulate, tune and upgrade the parts that actually limit your current setup, then return to the track and try to link a cleaner, longer drift sequence.
